and can be used as specimens, hedges, privacy screens, backdrops for smaller flowering plants, or as a
windbreak planted on the north and west to deflect or intercept winter winds.
At Thuja Gardens we ship FREE fertilizer tablets with all our evergreen trees. Some
customers will plant and use no fertilizer, either because they don't know what kind or

Hands down, fall is the best time of year to plant new trees. Generally, late August, September and October are the best months. It all
depends, though, on when it actually feels like fall. As long as the hottest days of summer are gone and the ground isn’t frozen yet, you can
still plant trees.
There’s less chance of drought or sun scorch harming fragile, newly-planted trees. Plus, the cooler temperatures help encourage new root
growth. And this effect is compounded. Since trees focus on growing new roots in fall, planting new trees now helps them develop more,
